Preferences at risk. Readiness unclear.
- Fragmented intelligence on preferences and access
- Gaps in productive capacity and export diversification
- Financing and reform priorities disconnected
Trade shocks, weak productivity and fragmented policy are rarely isolated problems. We connect economic intelligence with the incentives facing firms, institutions and people — then design responses that can be implemented.
Explore the economic decision labFrom national trade transitions to firm-level competitiveness, different problems require different evidence — and different levers.
IP3 works across trade policy, markets, productivity, business regulation and the institutions that translate reforms into real outcomes. Each lens below powers a public- and private-sector scenario.
LDC graduation, preferences and negotiating choices.
Tariffs, demand sensitivity and export exposure.
Services competitiveness, regulations and market entry.
Technology adoption, green trade and efficiency.
Institutional friction, firm constraints and regulatory change.
LDC graduation alters preference margins, financing conditions and the terms of competition. Research helps sequence a transition rather than react to each shock separately.
Stress-test a stylised exporter. Change an incremental import tariff, domestic-currency depreciation, and demand elasticity to see possible directional pressure on trade quantities and receipts.
Transparent assumptions: producer USD price factor = 1 − 0.60 × d/(1+d); buyer price factor = (1+tariff) × producer price factor; quantity index = 100 × buyer price factor−elasticity. This is a static partial-equilibrium teaching model; it excludes input costs, firm margins, product substitution, other regulations and adjustment over time. It is not an estimate of Bangladesh’s exports or of any CV project.
Strong economic advice is more than a chart or a recommendation. It joins credible research, public institutions, enterprise realities and implementation discipline — with results that can be monitored and challenged.
The scenarios demonstrate analytical methods and possible decision outputs. Assumptions are synthetic. These hypothetical examples do not document client results.
