The project aims to provide cost effective, high quality and modern reliable energy services to the under-electrified consumers at the base of the economic pyramid (BoP). Such clean energy services include solar home systems (SHSs), renewable mini/micro grids, light kits, solar portable lanterns (SPLs) etc. Despite quality and energy efficiency of the industry, the market for appliances for this BoP market remains disorganized and underdeveloped. To address the issue, IP3 prepared proposal for Global LEAP-Result based Financing 4 years’ program. The program included Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework and implementation plan. We also designed methodology for Global LEAP-Result based financing program. For the sake of SHS companies, we developed a methodology to measure Results-based financing (RBF) incentives. We estimated viability gap (monetary value) so that industry matchmaking, market development and cost-benefit analysis can be addressed through estimation of the incentives.
